Yoga and Winter Season

The seasonal wheel is most definitely turning, the cooler weather is with us, along with a desire to turn inwards, both inside our homes and inside ourselves.

We find ourselves on the cusp of the still part of the year, a time for quiet contemplation, and, whilst it can be very tempting to stay home under the covers, personal experience tells me that you never regret making the effort to come to practice, and yes, there is the temptation to practice at home online, but nothing beats the shared benefit of practicing together in our yoga community.

Winter practice brings us into relationship with the energetic pairings of the kidney and bladder meridians, the back lines of the body and the watery depths of ourselves.

We are encouraged to follow the flow of the seasons and allow time for deep rest and rejuvenation.

Our group class practices will offer combined gentle flow work to generate a little heat and more stationary, yin style postures to journey a little deeper, the addition of both breath work and relaxation techniques, which have been proven to offer a myriad of health benefits, rounds out and balances the practice.

So, dress warmly, bring your blankets and ask a friend to join you as we keep our

yoga community vibrant this winter.

I look forward to seeing you on the mat soon.
